d-works is finally there

My company, GFI Benelux, is releasing d-works: a complete intranet solution based on IBM Lotus Notes/Domino. Click on the image below to enter the world of d-works:

d-works

The site offers a teaser movie, an online demo d-works application and a downloadable trial version.

d-works

In short, d-works is a combination of blogs, wikis, discussions and file archives: everything you need for a corporate intranet. Apart from these modules, there's also a personal space with a quick overview of all documents related to you. And there is a profiles section to look up people in your company. You can also embed your own custom applications in different ways.

Benefits

d-works is FAST, in fact approx. 50 times faster than any web based Domino application I've seen so far. In terms of performance, it also beats platforms as Sharepoint and Websphere with ease. If you want to know how this is possible, browse through this blog.

We have been using d-works ourselves inside our own company for the last months, and it is really easy and fun to use.

The spin-off: Domino SiteBuilder

The real reason of my absence the last few weeks: I've been working on a d-works spin-off: Domino SiteBuilder. The basic concept is free (but you have to ask). In fact, it's just a combination of all I've been blogging about.

There's two sites running on DSB at present:

Next?

I'll be very busy until the end of this month, but as from next month, I'll be sharing more ideas and concepts on Domino based web development.

    Hi Michel,

If you haven't received much feedback on this, it may be because many of us have been paying much more attention to planetlotus.org for our Lotus Notes/Domino news (as opposed to our RSS news readers).

I just happened to check Bloglines tonight and saw this post. Anyway, I'll have to take a look at d-Works. Is there any chance of learning more about your SiteBuilder project, as well?

    Thanks!

Michel, I have been fascinated with your project since I first ran across your "building a site in a weekend" series last year. Pleas let me know how I can get more SiteBuilder info to learn from. Thanks.
